Integrated Renovation of Palanga Botanikal Park (2004-2005)
The administration of Palanga City Municipality has been implementing a project “Integrated Renovation of Palanga Botanical Park". The activities of the project aim at assisting in encouraging cultural heritage, its maintenance and tailoring for needs of tourism.

The Baltic Amber Road: heritage, tourism and crafts (2003-2004)
Palanga Town Municipality in association with municipalities of Neringa, Liepaja and Jûrmala, Latvia, with the Palanga Amber Museum, and with the Guild of Palanga amber masters has been developed the project "The Baltic Amber Road: heritage, tourism and crafts". The objectives of the project activities include the development and advertising the concept of the tourist route "The Baltic Amber Road", the enhancement of cross-border cooperation, the development of environmentally-friendly tourism in the Baltic region, the creation of favourable environment for small and medium amber processing businesses in Palanga.

Development of the tourism information system in Palanga resort (2003-2004)
The Municipality of Palanga Town has been participating as an observer in the project "The Baltic Welcome Centre" in coordination with the Municipality of Kalmar, Sweden.
Aiming to enhance tourist attractiveness of Palanga resort, to improve quality of the activities of Palanga tourism information centre, to increase flows of domestic and foreign tourists, and to contribute to the Baltic Hospitality Centre concept, the Palanga Municipal Fund for Tourism Development has initiated the development of the project "The development of Tourist information system in Palanga resort while integrating into the network of Baltic Welcome Centre".

Renovation of Sventoji and Butinge polders (2003-2004)
As on 1 September 2003 the National Paying Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Palanga Town Municipality signed an agreement on implementation of the project "Renovation of Sventoji and Bûtingë polders". The project implementation is funded by the European Union under the SAPARD measure "Improvement of Rural Infrastructure" "Improvement of Water Management Systems" sector.
The aim of the project is to renovate the system of Sventoji and Butinge polders and to improve common-use infrastructure of the settlements, social and economic conditions of farming, and to solve environmental issues in the area concerned. Study and design tasks will be carried out and pump stations renovated during the project implementation (September 2003 - November 2004).
Project impact:
- economic and social indicators for Ðventoji and Bûtingë farmers will improved;
- natural resources will be used in a more rational and efficient manner, farming and environmental interests harmonized;
- disparity in development of different territorial units of Palanga Town Municipality will be reduced.
